    Along the River

    Olde Harbor Inn 508 E. Factors Walk
    This Savannah inn was once a cotton warehouse built in 1892. Twenty-four rooms. Suites available overlooking the Savannah River. Limited suites for small pets 25 lbs or less. Amenities include: internet access and free breakfast. Rates: $169-$249.
    East Bay Inn 225 E. Bay St.
    This inn is housed in a Greek Revival style building built in 1852. This bed and breakfast has 28 individually decorated rooms furnished with beautiful antiques. Amenities include: nightly wine and cheese reception, wireless internet access and bathrobes in each room. Pets accepted for a fee. Non-smoking property. Rates: $179-$209.

    Historic District
    There are a large number of beautiful bed and breakfasts in the Historic District of Savannah. The list below is but a few of the offerings:
    Ballastone Inn 14 East Oglethorpe Ave
    This four-story Italiante-style mansion, just off Bull Street in the middle of the district, was built in 1838 and expanded in 1892. All 16 rooms are lavishly decorated; many have fireplaces, whirlpools and views of the district. Other services include: free off street parking, extended dining room hours, full breakfast. free wi-fi, free access to the Downtown Athletic Club, afternoon teas, pre-dinner hors d'oeuvres, and free movies. Canopy beds and antiques round out the elegant atmosphere of the inn. Rates $285-$395.
    Azalea Inn & Gardens 217 East Huntingdon
    This Queen Anne Italianate was built in 1889 has 10 guest rooms - 7 guest rooms, 2 junior suites and a carriage house - all with a cozy and casual decor that incorporates Savannah's history and culture. Many of the rooms have fireplaces and all have private baths. Services include: free off-stree parking, wi-fi, and breakfast. The site includes a swimming pool, gardens and fishpond. Rates $149-$400.
    Kehoe House 123 Habersham St
    This inn is an Renaissance Revival mansion built in 1892. This hotel, overlooking Columbia Square, has a haunted reputation; guest have reported hearing children's laughter and the sound of small footsteps - especially in rooms 201 and 203. Children younger than 12 are discouraged. Your stay will feature European linens, free gourmet breakfast, free wi-fi, afternoon tea, turndown service and daily wine with hors d'oeuvres. All 13 rooms are non-smoking. Rates $159-$429.
    Hamilton-Turner Inn 330 Abercorn St.
    The Hamilton mansion was built in 1873 and currently has 17 luxurious guest rooms and suites, and a carriage house. This house has historical significance - it was the first residence in Savannah to get electricity. The house was also a part of the book Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil as one of Joe Odom's many houses. Many rooms have fireplaces and some rooms overlook Lafayette Squares. Other amenities include: mongrammed bathrobes, wireless internet access, full gourmet breakfast, afternoon tea, and evening hors d'oeuvres and wine. Rates $189-$599.
    The Gastonian 220 East Gaston St. near Forsyth Park
    This bed and breakfast inn with 17 guest rooms is actually a combination of two Regency-Italianate style mansions built in 1868. All guest rooms have working fireplaces. Amenities include: personalized breakfast menus, hors d'oeuvres and wine in the afternoon, wireless internet, and evening desserts and cordials. Special packages available. Rated four diamonds by AAA. Voted Best Romantic Inn in Savannah in 2007. Rates $215-$405.




    Victorian District
    There are a growing number of inns in the Victorian district. These inns are normally a little less expensive, but brimming with hospitality.
    Colonel JebGalloway House 107 E. 35th St
    Folk Victorian house has built in 1895-6. Three apartments available - two in the carriage house and one is the first floor of the main house. All have equipped kitchens. The larger suite in the main house has a living room, dining room, 2 bedrooms and 2 baths. Two blocks east of Forsyth Park. Starts at $180 per suite per night. Up to 2 dogs are welcome.
    Colonel Jeb: This is a delightful inn; close to Forsyth Park and not far from the Historic District.
    Catherine Ward House Inn 118 E. Waldburg
    High Victorian Italianate home built in 1886 has 9 guest rooms. All rooms with fireplaces. One-half block from Forsyth Park. Rates $159-$339.
    Roussell's Garden 208 E. Henry St.
    Three guest rooms in a Queen Anne style home built in 1888 complete with side porch. Located two blocks southeast of Forsyth Park. Rates $100-$200.
    The Confederate House 808 Drayton St.
    Greek Revival mansion built in 1854 overlooks Forsyth Park. Every room has a 42" plasma tv. Hot southern breakfasts. Free wi-fi. Voted most Romantic Inn in Savannah for 2005 and 2007. Rates $199-$249.

    Whitaker-Huntingdon Inn 601 Whitaker St.
    Home built in 1883 and overlooks Forsyth Park. Two 2-bedroom suites with private baths and kitchens. Ghost sighting by guests. Call for rates.
